X-ray diagnostics have been used for over a century since its appearance, despite the constant emergence of new tools and new ways of studying living organisms the X-ray method not only precise but in many cases the only way for an effective diagnosis.

In our clinic we use a stationary radiographic installation with digital output of x-ray images. We also have the ability to print images on X-ray film in negative and positive modes. This allows us to achieve high-quality X-ray examinations of animals to detect things such as: foreign bodies, impaired patency of the gastrointestinal tract, the presence of free gas in the abdomen, free fluid and gas in the chest cavity and determine the size and shape of the heart.

Radiographic study is used to diagnose from all kinds of diseases of bone and joint systems, traumatic injuries to the anomalies of its development. It is obvious that the effectiveness of classical X-ray examination is largely determined by informative photographs. The quality of the same radiographs can be affected by many factors ranging from the qualified person using the apparatus who controls and achieves the projection and image mode, ending with the length of the developing solutions can be used by, also the quality of the cassettes and intensifying screens, following the instructions and rules of X-ray film storage etc…in the case if a standard film method is used.

To this day X-ray study of our Center is equipped with modern digital receiver designed to convert the X-ray shadow image, which is used to carry information about the object being studied in digital form. Using of this sort of high technology raises the X-ray diagnosis to a new level, on the one hand providing outstanding image quality on another - significantly reducing the radiation dose given out to the patient and time reduction to achieve the image results.

Software digital converter allows us to:

  • Manage the process of obtaining X-ray images
  • Store them in an electronic archive
  • Simultaneously view several images at one time
  • To treat and precise synthesized images and their selected areas (brightness, contrast, movement and scale, measuring the size, constructing histograms etc.)
  • Record images on DVD-ROMs and print-out on X-ray film

The digital archive provides a number of significant innovations. The most promising of these is the possibility of rapid transmission of diagnostic images to any distance by Internet for consultation with specialists.

Modern film printer provides us to have a stable print quality and achieve high-resolution images. X-ray in our Centre – is a separate room which is equipped with the necessary certified personal protection against ionizing radiation. It also prevents owners of the surveyed animals to X-ray exposure.

For the clinic staff is quite obvious that the digital diagnostic - is not just a piece of technology that is out but the necessary level of veterinary medicine today.

This is due to the fact that the use of digital technology allows us to reduce the dose of radiation by ten times, and at the same time achieve and improve the image information content, improve quality, reduce time of study and expand its area of application.
