Animals in Treatment - History

On the 29th of October a puppy was brought to the shelter who was hit by a car few days before.

Examination was carried out by a doctor on duty, who found fractures with displacement of the three limbs, which later were confirmed by X-rays. An ultrasound revealed endoab hematoma (an abscess?) and soft tissue injuries. Antibiotic and antipyretic drugs were immediately given, because the inflammatory process has begun. An Operation assigned to start at 19.00.

A complicated operation was carried out that lasted more than five hours. The operation performed open reduction of fractures, fixation of bone fragments spokes and a special medical wire.

Alice is currently in the postoperative box in the day-and-night hospital, overall state is stable and overall the signs are satisfactory, Alice has been appointed a course of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy. Came out of anaesthesia without complications.

Alice needed postoperative medicine such as:

Ceftriaxone 1g., Novocaine, Traumeel-S, Cyclo-3-fort, gauze, syringes, 2.0, 5.0, 10.0, Bandages narrow and wide, non-sterile, sterile gloves, etamzilata in ampoules Analgin in ampoules, Novocaine 0 , 5% in ampoules, Lincomycin in ampoules, elastic bandages (width 7,5, 10 cm), Alcohol, Thiotriazoline 2,5% in ampoules, Linex, Dufalayt (veterinary medicine).

1st November – Alice was in a satisfactory condition which were stable. Vital signs were normal.

Alisa has now a loving home! The lady who found the puppy on the street, decided to leave the puppy at home. Rehabilitation period in home conditions will be much easier and more favourable than in isolation in a hospital cubicle.
